COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – A Branch County Circuit Court jury of nine women and three men found 40-year-old Jamie Lynn Coyle of Union City guilty of five second degree criminal sexual conduct charges following two hours of deliberations Wednesday afternoon.
Coyle was found not guilty of a pair of first degree CSC counts but with three prior felony convictions, he could get life in prison during a June 26, 2017 sentencing hearing.
Coyle went on trial in connection with sexual incidents involving a young teenage girl last June.
Coyle was originally charged with nine counts but two counts, including another first degree criminal sexual conduct charge, were dismissed by prosecutors before the trial based on case law and information that had been gathered.
Judge Bill O’Grady revoked Coyle’s bond after the jury returned their verdicts at about 5:00 p.m.
Three days of the court docket were blocked out for the trial but it only lasted two days.
