COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – In high school baseball, Coldwater split an Interstate 8 doubleheader against Harper Creek at Lowe Field Tuesday as they rallied for a 3-2 win in the opener before losing the nightcap 5-2.
First game winning pitcher Kam Miller struck out eight and tossed a four hitter in the opener. Coldwater rallied for three runs in the last of the sixth. Brady Snow’s pinch hit two run single tied the game. That was followed by an RBI single by Eric Bach which drove in the running run. Bach and Andrew Richar both had two hits.
Bryce Barringer and Brent Smoker both had two hits in the second game. Alex Everitt was our McDonald’s Player of the Game as he allowed just two hits in five innings of scoreless relief.
Coldwater is now 11-13 overall and 6-6 in the Interstate 8
Bronson split a BCS doubleheader with Centreville as the Vikings dropped the opener 6-2 but came back to win the nightcap 5-0. Bryce Withington and Hudson Wotta both had two hits in the first game. Brett Sikorski allowed three hits in six shutout inning to get the win in the nightcap. Withington and Wotta both had two RBI’s while Kameron Haviland had two hits. Bronson is now 18-4 overall and 7-1 in the BCS.
Union City swept a Big 8 Conference doubleheader from Reading by scores of 15-6 and 6-5. Cody Link drove in five runs in the first game. Larson Kever was the winnining pitcher. He along with Grady Kever and Link all had three hits. Colton Johns earned the save. The Chargers scored two runs in the last of the seventh to win the nightcap. Larson Kever got the win in the second game while Blade Gordon had three hits and Johns had three RBI’s.
