COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) -The Coldwater girls varsity soccer team gave up the tie breaking goal with just over a minute to play and lost to Harper Creek 3-2 Monday night.
The Lady Cardinals took the early lead just 1:25 into the game on a Jasmine Wellet goal, assisted by Malorie Rzepka. Harper Creek tied the score with 13 minutes to play in the half, then took the lead with 25 minutes left in the game. Coldwater tied the score 2-2 with 12 minutes to play on a Madison Marsh goal, again assisted by Rzepka. Harper Creek scored the game winner with 1:15 to play, dropping Coldwater’s Interstate 8 Conference record to 0-2-2 and 3-6-3 overall.
Nadia Kiersey made 9 saves in goal. The Lady Cardinals next play at Jackson Lumen Christi Wednesday.
The Coldwater JV team beat Harper Creek 2-0. Elise Leggett scored both goals.
Haley Bean scored three goals for the hat trick as Quincy won at Jackson Christian 7-2. Katie Rathbun and Payton Hines both scored twice for the Orioles as they improved to 7-3-1.
