COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The Coldwater City Council approved on first reading their part of an agreement with Coldwater Community Schools Monday night for the sale of the property which is the current location of the Little League diamonds on Western Avenue.
The second and final reading of the agreement is scheduled to take place next month.
Coldwater City Manager Keith Baker said the negotiated purchase price is $750,000.
City Attorney Megan Angell pointed out the sale is contingent on voters in the Coldwater School district approving a nearly $29 million bonding resolution in November.
Council member Jim Knaack cast the only no vote.
The Coldwater School Board approved the agreement two weeks ago. Coldwater schools selected the Western Avenue location for a proposed 4th and 5th grade building to replace Lakeland Elementary after looking at several other locations.
