COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The Branch County Board of Commissioners formally adopted a resolution on Tuesday that allows the Commission on Aging to apply for a new grant being offered by the State of Michigan.
C.O.A. Director Amy Duff says the No Wrong Door grant will support the Medicare Medicaid Assistance Program.
But the State of Michigan has made some changes.
Duff told the Commissioners during their work session on Monday the grant will provide free and unbiased Medicare counseling to Branch County residents as well as other services.
The C.O.A. plan to partner with the Area Agency on Aging 3-C, the St. Joseph County C.O.A. and other agencies in southwest Michigan. The counties covered in the application will be Branch, St. Joseph, Barry, Kalamazoo and Calhoun Counties.
The deadline for applying is December 19.
