UNION CITY, MI (WTVB) – Bronson’s Aubree Calloway set a new school record for most points in a single game as she scored 40 points in the Vikings 58-13 victory over the Union City Chargers at McNett Fieldhouse on Friday night.
Calloway scored 30 of her points in the first half which included five buckets from beyond the arc as Bronson built a 38-8 lead in their Big 8 Conference opener.
The 2-0 Vikings took control in the first quarter thanks to a 14 point run which gave them a 16-1 advantage.
Calloway added eight more points in the third quarter and a fourth quarter bucket broke the school record previously held by Julie Ganton in the early 1990’s.
Ganton was among the many well wishers who congratulated Calloway on her achievement saying on the Bronson Vikings Athletics Facebook page, “Way to go Aubree! Congratulations on your new school record! Go Vikes!”
Ava Hathaway added seven points for the Vikings. Calli Wilkinson and Nala Payne each scored three points for Union City. The Chargers are now 1-3.
