(Washington, DC) — Seventh District Republican Congressman Tim Walberg is among four G.O.P. House members from Michigan who have signed onto a lawsuit from Texas which challenges the Presidential election results in Michigan and three other swing states.
Walberg joined Bill Huizenga, John Moolenaar and Jack Bergman in signing a friend of the court brief in the suit which is before the U.S. Supreme Court.
Michigan Republicans Fred Upton and Paul Mitchell did not sign the brief.
Upton is one of several Republicans who have said President Trump lost the election and the country needs to move on with President-elect Joe Biden.
The lawsuit, which legal experts see as a longshot, is seeking to block electors from Michigan, Wisconsin, Pennsylvania and Georgia from voting in the Electoral College on Monday.
Biden carried Michigan by near 154,000 votes. Despite numerous claims by the Trump campaign and its allies, federal and state officials say there has been no evidence of widespread fraud.
