COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – One of the longest running fast food restaurants in Coldwater has closed its doors.
A sign posted on the door of the Wendy’s at 523 East Chicago Street Monday said the location is permanently closed, with the next nearest Wendy’s location in Hillsdale.

While the restaurant was closed, employees were seen behind the counter Monday afternoon, presumably shutting down operations.
Wendy’s in early November announced it was closing roughly 140 underperforming locations across the country by the end of 2024, with Wendy’s president and CEO Kirk Tanner explaining that many of the affected locations are outdated and in slower-growth areas, with average yearly sales of about $1 million, below Wendy’s typical performance.
The Coldwater location is owned by Livonia, MI-based TEAM Schostak Family Restaurants, a family-owned restaurant group with an expansive portfolio of casual and fast-casual dining restaurants throughout the state of Michigan, including Applebee’s, Del Taco, MOD Pizza, Olga’s Kitchen and Wendy’s.
