PARMA, MI (WTVB) – Coldwater came away with a 1-1 tie at Parma Western. Jasmine Wellet scored the lone goal for the Cardinals in the 14th minute off a Malorie Rzepka corner kick, two minutes after the Panthers scored on a long range shot that barely beat goalkeeper Nadia Kiersey. She finished with 9 save as Coldwater improves to 2-5-2 overall, 0-2-1 in the Interstate 8. Western won the JV game 3-0.
Coldwater returns to action Saturday afternoon when they host Quincy for the annual Battle of the Birds starting at 4pm. It is also Youth Soccer Day, with any child wearing a soccer jersey to Cardinal Field admitted free.
