David J. Mason, 77, of Quincy passed away Friday, December 20, 2024 at his home.
A service will be held Thursday, December 26, 2024 at 12:00 p.m. at Dutcher Funeral Home with Rev. Fr. Dan Hyman officiating.
A visitation will be held prior to the service from 10:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. at Dutcher Funeral Home.
Interment will follow the service at Lakeview Cemetery in Quincy.
David was born June 19, 1947, to Joseph and Barbara (Schmidtmiester) Mason in Chicago, IL. David served in the Unites States Army as a paratrooper during the Vietnam war from 1965-1971. He married Patricia A. Marske on February 12, 1966, in Chicago, IL.
David worked for Klein Tools in Jonesville as a robotics technician for many years until his retirement in 2008. He was a member of the American Legion in Quincy. David enjoyed repairing electronics, specifically tv’s for his friends and family, cars, and anything he could get his hands on. He also enjoyed spending time with his family.
David is survived by his children Patricia “Paige” (David) Hoffman of Quincy, Melissa (Jason) Stubbs of Missouri; his grandchildren Jordan Vaughn, Brianna Longardner, Kiersten Hoffman, Keegan Hoffman, Ann-Marie Kay Smith, Sierra Zebolsky, David Stubbs, Robbie Stubbs; and his great grandchildren Masyn, Xavier, Garion, Dorian, Trinity, Garret, Logan, Gabriel, Lucas, and Zander.
In addition to his wife, David was preceded in death by his brothers Jospeh Mason, and Gary Mason.
