James William LaFerney, Jr., 64, of Coldwater Michigan, lost his lifelong struggle with Multiple Sclerosis and his battle against cancer December 10, 2020. He died in his home surrounded by his loving family.
James was born on October 13, 1956 in Ypsilanti, Michigan to James and Yvonne (Perry) LaFerney. He grew up in Michigan and graduated from Belleville High School in 1975. He lived most of his adult life in New Madrid Missouri where he had many friends and family. He returned to Michigan in 2013 where he met the love of his life Janice Baughey.
James had a hilarious sense of humor and was quite a jokester, but was best known for his infectious laugh. He enjoyed music and hunting, especially deer camp with the guys, and spending time at the family’s lake house.
Survivors include his fiancé Janice Baughey of Coldwater; his siblings, Rick (Mary Kay) LaFerney of Manitou Beach, Michael (Mallie) LaFerney of Prudenville, and Cheryl (Harold) Dunigan of Lake Somerset; and several beloved nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents.
