COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – Charges against a Mt. Morris, Michigan man have been dropped after a woman in the domestic violence case did not show up for his preliminary examination Tuesday in Branch County District Court.
44-year-old Ray Weldon Garrett was arrested by the Michigan State Police on I-69 in Kinderhook Township after troopers reported he forced a female passenger to travel with him to Kentucky.
Charges of kidnapping, unlawful imprisonment and domestic violence third offense were all dismissed without prejudice.
A reason for the State Police traffic stop was not listed in court documents.
A report stated the woman had a bloody head and also had some of her hair ripped out.
