COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – Marshall scored twice in the first five minutes and went on to defeat Coldwater 4-0 in an Interstate 8 girls soccer match at Cardinal Field. The Redhawks took a 3-0 halftime lead, with the Lady Cardinals playing a much better possession game in the second half, despite conceding the last goal late in the game.
Marshall outshot Coldwater 12-3 on the night, with Nadia Kiersey making 5 saves in goal.
The Lady Cardinals record drops to 1-4-1 overall and 0-1 in the Interstate 8. They will host Pennfield in conference action Friday night.
The Coldwater junior varsity team fell to Marshall 2-0.
Quincy 8, Jackson Christian 0
The Orioles remained undefeated as Katie Rathbun had four goals and a assist. Other Oriole goals were scored by Emilly Hollenbaugh, Payton Hines, Madison Hines and Hannah Kaser. Cailyn Cook had six saves to get the shutout. Quincy is now 3-0-1. Their next game is Monday against Springport.
