COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – There was a scary moment last Saturday afternoon during the Coldwater girls softball tournament when a coach from Kalamazoo Loy Norrix was struck in the head with a softball.
Coach Victoria Najacht was struck at about 2:00 p.m. while she was in her team’s dugout during the tournament’s consolation game with Hillsdale.
After rescue crews were dispatched to the softball diamond, an Air Care helicopter landed at Coldwater High School and flew Najacht to Bronson Hospital in Kalamazoo.
Loy Norrix Athletic Director Andrew Laboe told WWMT-TV that Najacht is now recovering at home.
