COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – A Hillsdale man was told to serve between 17 months and 15 years in the Michigan Department of Corrections Monday in Branch County Circuit Court for the robbery in November 2015 of a Butler Township store.
22-year-old Caleb Huff entered a guilty plea to a charge of unarmed robbery. In exchange for the plea, the original charge of armed robbery was dismissed by prosecutors.
Huff was given credit for 188 days already served in jail.
He was charged in October 2016 following an investigation by the Michigan State Police with the robbery of A.J.’s General Store on Clarendon Road.
Troopers initially said the suspect held a knife during the heist and left the area driving a vehicle with a loud exhaust.
