COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – Careless smoking is being listed as the cause of a fire that broke out Sunday morning in one of the rental units at the Country Knoll Apartments located at 225 Smith Street.
The fire was reported just before 7:30 a.m.. Firefighters were able to contain the fire to the area by a sliding door.
Damages were estimated at about $15,000. No injuries were reported.
Coldwater firefighters were on the scene for about an hour. Quincy firefighters were initially called on automatic mutual aid but were later cancelled.
LifeCare Ambulance and Coldwater Police were also at the scene.
