COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – A rural Coldwater man was arraigned on numerous drug and larceny charges Tuesday in Branch County District Court.
26-year-old Johnathon Dean Chilcoat was charged with being in possession of Zanax, marijuana and heroin following a Coldwater Police investigation.
Court documents indicate police found the drugs in a backpack at his home after a relative called authorities about his alleged drug use.
Chilcoat is also facing five charges including three counts of illegal use of credit cards after Michigan State Police investigated the taking of items from a vehicle in Batavia Township between November 12, 2016 and March 16, 2017.
Charges of breaking and entering a vehicle to steal property over $200 and receiving and concealing stolen property have also been filed.
His total bond is $70,000. Probable cause hearings are scheduled for next Tuesday while preliminary exams are scheduled for April 25, 2017.
