JONESVILLE, MI (WTVB) – Despite taking the early lead in the game, the Coldwater varsity girls soccer team fell at Jonesville 2-1 Tuesday night. Sophomore Hunter Jenkot got the Lady Cardinals on the board with her first varsity goal 13 minutes into the game, assisted by Madysen Fisher.
Jonesville tied the game with 17 minutes to play in the first half, then scored the game winner with 11 minutes to play in the second half.
Whitney Johnson made five saves in goal as Coldwater outshot Jonesville 11-8.
With the non-conference loss, the Lady Cardinals record slips to 1-2-1 on the season. Their next action is Monday at Edwardsburg.
The Coldwater JV team fell at Marshall 2-0 Tuesday. Audrey Hall made 22 saves in goal. The JV team will host Adrian Thursday.
BOYS GOLF—
Coldwater’s JV golf team won their first jamboree of the season at Battle Creek’s Cedar Creek Golf Course. Coldwater had a team score of 177. Harper Creek took second followed by Battle Creek Lakeview, Kalamazoo Central, and Sturgis.
Medalist for the event was Coldwater’s Kyle Herman who shot a three over par round of 40. Brendan Hanna had a 45, Austin Butler and Noah Waterbury each carded 46’s, Grey Skudlarick had a 55 and Dillon Gagnon rounded out Coldwater’s scoring with a 64.
Coldwater will be hosting 21 teams Thursday in the annual Coldwater Cardinal Invitational hosted by the Coldwater Golf Course.
GIRLS TENNIS—

BOYS TRACK—
Quincy 101 ½, Pittsford 77 ½, Vandercook Lake 59, Waldron 13
Quincy winners were Ryan Gibson in the 100 and 200, Michael Fisher in the 110 hurdles and 300 hurdles, Jonathan Purvis in the shot put and discus and Bryce Ruhl in the high jump. Quincy won the 400 and 3200 relays.
GIRLS TRACK—
Quincy 98 ½, Pittsford 87 ½, Vandercook Lake 55, Waldron 13Quincy winners were Montana Hindes in the 200, Haley Bean in the 800 and 1600, Gabby Porter in the 3200, Madelyn Allman in the 300 hurdles and Jessica Holcomb in the long jump. Quincy won the 400, 800 and 3200 relays.
