BATTLE CREEK, MI (WTVB) – The Bronson Vikings finished sixth while the Union City Chargers were eighth on Saturday at the 18 team Bill Evans-Jeff McGinnis Memorial Wrestling Tournament at Battle Creek Central.
Union City’s Aidan Taylor won the 144 pound championship. Three Chargers earned their 100th career victories. Mason Hawthorne was second at 132 pounds, Alex Boyer finished third at 150 pounds and Montana Connell was second at 157 pounds.
Other Chargers who went to the podium were Blayne Crance (4th-106), Kaden Russell (4th-120), Andrew Tundevold (7th-138), John Olmstead (8th-175) and William Thompson (8th-215).
Bronson’s Layne Knisely won the 175 pound championship while Mason Lindsey won the crown at 190 pounds. The Vikings had seven other wrestlers go to the podium. They were Brayton Cosby (8th-106), Owen Kimmons (5th-138), Brycen Fincham (4th-144), Caleb Harvey (5th-150), Collin York (5th-157), Sam Tappenden (4th-285) and Brayden Fritz (8th-285).
