COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – One of three women from Hillsdale who were accused of shoplifting over $1,700 worth of items from a pair of Coldwater stores last Thanksgiving night entered into a plea agreement with prosecutors Monday in Branch County Circuit Court.
35-year-old Tabitha Anne Bennett entered a guilty plea to first degree retail fraud.
In exchange for the plea, prosecutors will drop a second similar charge as well as two counts of organized retail crime. There would also be no sentencing enhancement.
Court documents indicate three juvenile girls were with the three women at the time of the shoplifting.
Authorities say the items were allegedly taken from the Meijer and Wal-Mart stores.
