QUINCY TOWNSHIP, MI (WTVB) – A 91-year-old man from Quincy was injured Wednesday morning when his passenger vehicle crashed into the back of a semi at the intersection of U.S. 12 and Fremont Road and rolled over.
The Branch County Sheriff’s Department says the crash was reported at 5:49 a.m..
They say the injured man was driving an eastbound 2014 Buick Verano while the eastbound semi was a 1995 Freightliner that was driven by a 62-year-old man from Quincy.
When Branch County Sheriff’s Department Deputies arrived at the scene, they found the driver of the rolled over vehicle was entrapped inside.
The driver of the passenger vehicle sustained non-life-threatening injuries. He was treated by Life Care Ambulance then transported to Parkview Regional Medical Center in Fort Wayne. He was stable while at the scene.
The Sheriff’s Department reports speed appears to be a factor in the crash which remains under investigation.
The names of the two drivers were not released.
Deputies were assisted by LifeCare Ambulance, the Quincy Fire Department, the Michigan State Police and VIP Towing.
