COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – Thursday’s strong winds were not as bad as a few weeks ago when they topped 60 miles an hour and knocked out power throughout Michigan’s lower peninsula.
The strongest gust measured Thursday at the Branch County Memorial Airport was 39 miles an hour.
Consumers Energy reported about 40,000 customers system wide were without power late Thursday afternoon.
That number was down to over 17,000 customers on Friday morning, which included 107 in Branch County.
The outages in Branch County included 19 in both Bronson and Coldwater and 31 in Quincy.
Another 320 customers were out in Calhoun County while 406 customers in Hillsdale County did not have power on Friday morning
