COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – While the total dollars will be finalized later this week, organizers say the St. Charles Borromeo 26th Annual Mardi Gras Auction was a great success Saturday evening with over $78,000 raised so far.
The gym at St. Charles was full with 236 entry tickets purchased, as well as 36 online only bidding tickets.
Principal Brenda Mescher says the silent auction generated $26,711 from online bidding. Items included items included a Bavarian Inn family fun package, Kalahari gift cards, cabin rental in Grayling, MI, a WTVB commercial package, outdoor patio heater, Pampered Chef prep basket, Baseball and Brew, and Cincinnati family fun package
During the live auction, 53 packages another raised $51,525. The Angel Tuition bids raised over $6000 to support student tuition for the 2025-26 school year.
Top items in the live auction included the Principal’s Backpack, stuffed full of Mescher’s favorites, bringing in $1,600 to support the school’s annual budget. Father’s Hope Chest Freezer ended the evening with a bid of $6,100.
