COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The Coldwater Planning Commission approved three recommendations from McKenna and Associates on Monday night which are designed to keep the city a Redevelopment Ready Community under the criteria from the Michigan Economic Development Corporation.
McKenna recommended that the city enhance provisions regarding outdoor dining while also incorporating first-floor residential within the commercial area of the downtown.
They also felt the city should update zoning definitions to clarify permitted housing types within residential zoning districts, specifically the A-2 and A-3 zones.
They also said the city should analyze its existing off-street parking ordinance and make recommendations/modifications to increase parking flexibility.
The proposals from McKenna can be found in detail on the City of Coldwater’s web site.
Once again, technical difficulties in the Council Chambers prevented the meeting from airing live on the City’s You Tube channel on Monday night. A video was downloaded by the IT department on Tuesday.
