COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The Coldwater Cardinal girls basketball team dominated defending Interstate 8 champion Jackson Northwest from the opening tip Tuesday night, winning 63-21 at the Coach Floyd Eby Gymnasium.
The Lady Cardinals outscored the Mounties in every quarter – 11-6 in the first, 15-8 in the second, 22-5 in the third, and 15-8 in the fourth. In the process, Coldwater forced 33 Northwest turnovers while holding the Mounties to 4-of-25 shooting for the game.
Mya Porter led the way for the Cardinals with 14 points and 6 steals, while Coley Burkhardt had 10 points, 3 rebounds, and 3 steals. Elli Foley pulled down a team-high 6 boards to go with 9 points, 4 assists, and 5 steals, and Audrina Bucklin added 9 points, 5 assists, and 2 blocks.
Coldwater improved to 10-6 overall, 7-1 in the Interstate 8, and vill visit Pennfield Friday night.
Brooke Grant led Northwest with 6 points; the Mounties fell to 4-10 overall, 2-5 in the Interstate 8 with the loss.

Coldwater also won the JV game, defeating the Mounties 22-15. Harper Morrill led the Lady Cards with 7 points.
