Patricia Kay Worden, 79, of Coldwater passed away peacefully Tuesday, February 4, 2025 at Drews Place of Coldwater after battling the health consequences of dementia for many years.
The funeral service will be held Monday, February 10, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Coldwater with Pastor Aaron Chittick officiating. Private interment will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery.
Visitation will be held prior to the service Monday beginning at 10:00 a.m. at St. Paul Lutheran Church.
Arrangements are being cared for by Dutcher Funeral Home.
Patricia (Pat) was born April 18, 1945 in Niles, MI to Adolf & Kathryn (Bandurski) Mueller. She graduated from Niles High School as Valedictorian in 1963 and then earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Michigan State University in 1967. September 30, 1967, she married John B. Worden, Jr., in Niles and then moved to Coldwater.
Pat worked as a registered nurse on the surgical floor of the Community Health Center of Branch County for 10 years, and then she stayed home to raise her two children. Once her kids were grown, she helped out for 15 years as office manager for the family business, Worden and Worden Trucking.
Pat was a devoted member of St. Paul Lutheran Church for 57 years, and she spent many of those years singing in the choir. She was an avid listener of the Coldwater radio station for most of her life, playing it constantly whenever she was at home or in the car. Pat also enjoyed crossword puzzles, cooking holiday meals, boating on Morrison Lake and spending time with John and friends at their cabin in Baldwin, MI and their condo in Bradenton, FL.
During their retirement years, she and John took many cross country road trips with their camper, touring National Parks and Monuments, as well as visiting good friends along the way. She was a wonderful grandmother to her two grandsons, taking them to countless fairs, zoos, amusement parks, sand dunes and beaches during their childhood. She thoroughly enjoyed attending their high school graduations and visiting them at college.
Pat is survived by her husband John; her children Michelle (Rick) Pierce of Charlotte, NC, Kevin (Joann) Worden of Jackson; her grandchildren Kyle Pierce and Jason Pierce; her brothers-in-law, Jim Worden of Ann Arbor, and Loren Mills of Coldwater; and her cousins Linda Schultz and Ed Schultz both of Dandridge, TN.
