BRONSON, MI (WTVB) – Coldwater’s girls bowling team finished fourth on Sunday in the eighth annual Sturgis Trojan Invitation which was held at the Bronson Strike Zone.
The tournament attracted a field of nine teams. Coldwater had regular games of 681 and 714 for a two game total of 1,395, followed by eight Baker games totaling 1,191 for a combined total of 2,586 which allowed them to finish in fourth place.
Coldwater had to face the number one qualifier, Marshall, in a best 3 of 5 Baker game set. It took Marshall all five games to best the Cards.
Coldwater then lost to Edwardsburg three games to one in the consolation round.
The girls were led on the day by Ashlyn Cleckner with a 179 and Ashlyn Caswell a 170.
The Coldwater bowlers have a busy week ahead with three conference meets, the I-8 conference tournament on Saturday and a Fundraising Pancake breakfast at the Coldwater Elks on Sunday.
