BRANCH COUNTY, MI (WTVB) – The Bronson Vikings won their ninth straight game on Tuesday night as they defeated Branch County rival Quincy 59-40 in a Big 8 Conference girls basketball game at the Coolest Gym in Michigan in Quincy.
The win allowed the Vikings to stay even with Concord in the loss column in the battle for first place in the Big 8.
Bronson is 9-1 in conference play while Concord is 11-1.
Unlike the first game in which Quincy led Bronson after the first half, the Vikings dominated the opening 16 minutes on Tuesday night as they built a 35-10 lead at halftime.
Aubree Calloway scored a game-high 24 points for Bronson. Payton Springstead added 10 points.
Kendyl Musielewicz led Quincy with 14 points while Ashley Fickle had 10 points.
Bronson is now 14-2 overall while Quincy dropped to 5-6 in the Big 8 and 9-7 overall.
Also in the Big 8 on Tuesday night, Union City lost at Stockbridge 44-39. The Chargers are 1-8 in the Big 8 and 5-13 overall.
