COLDWATER, MI (WTVB)- With the official arrival of Spring, you will start to see some changes in downtown Coldwater.
Interim City Manager Keith Baker says the painting of the decorative lamp posts will start as soon as temperatures and the weather permit.
In addition, Department of Municipal Services crews will soon be setting out benches, trash receptacles and banners. They will be sweeping and cleaning up dumpster corrals and parking lots.The D.M.S. and Neitzert’s Greenhouse will be installing the downtown flower planters in May if the weather permits.
In addition, Baker says Showcase Gardens will be back this spring to finish up the landscaping of the Tibbits parking lot. They will also be replacing some dead plants in the Upson parking lot.
Baker adds a sponsor will soon be announced who has pledged to cover the $1,900 cost of restoring the Centennial historical marker.
A $1,000 donation will also be made towards the restoration of the Civil War Loomis Battery Limber. It’s hoped it will be ready to be reinstalled by Memorial Day.
