QUINCY, MI (WTVB) – Both the Quincy Orioles and the Union City Chargers were eliminated from the Division Three district tournament being hosted by the Orioles on Wednesday night.
Quincy was no match for Schoolcraft as the Eagles romped to a 69-28 victory. Quincy ended their season with a 12-11 record.
Union City came back from a 13 point second half deficit but were beaten by Centreville 54-49 in the nightcap.
Rick Austin’s three point bucket with less than two minutes to go gave the Chargers a 46-45 lead. But the Bulldogs hit critical foul shots and forced Union City into several turnovers down the stretch to pull out the victory.
Austin led the Chargers with 14 points as Union City finished 15-9.
Schoolcraft (17-6) will meet Centreville (19-3) in the district final on Friday.
In the Division 4 district at Burr Oak, the host Bobcats defeated Mendon 78-67 to advance to Friday’s finals where they will face the Colon Magi. Colon advanced with a 42-26 win over Athens.
