DETROIT, MI (WTVB) – Mackenna Webster of Bronson finished second in the state in the M.H.S.A.A. girls wrestling 140 pound finals on Saturday at Ford Field in downtown Detroit.
After winning three matches on Friday, Webster was pinned in Saturday’s final by Nanda Kibi of Plymouth Canton in 2:35.
Webster was one of seven Branch County wrestlers who earned All-State honors by finishing in the top eight of their respective weight classes.
Union City’s Logan Mears was third at 138 and became Union City’s first wrestler to earn four All-State honors. His teammate Aidan Taylor was third at 144 while Alex Boyer was fifth at 150.

Eliminated on Friday were Blayne Crance at 106, Kaden Russell at 120, Mitchell Graham at 126, Mason Hawthorne at 132 and Montana Connell at 157.
Bronson’s Layne Knisely finished third at 165 pounds after reaching the semifinals. Gabe Erwin was seventh at 157 pounds while Connor Harvey was fifth at 215 pounds.
Vikings who were eliminated on Friday were Collin York at 150, Mason Lindsey at 190 and Sam Tappenden at 285.
Lindsey was honored on Friday for earning his 150th career victory.

Quincy’s Landon Beardon dropped two matches on Friday and was eliminated in the Division Three finals at 165 pounds.
