COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – A Coldwater man was given a sentence of 14 months to two years Monday in Branch County Circuit Court after entering a no contest plea to an amended charge of maintaining a drug house.
Three other charges against 28-year-old Donta Antonio Scott were dismissed in exchange for the no contest plea.
Scott was charged following an investigation by Coldwater Police into what was described in court documents as a “drug house” on Taylor Street.
He was originally charged last summer with Delivery and Manufacturing Marijuana as well as two counts of being in possession of less than 25 grams of cocaine. All those charges were dismissed in exchange for the no contest plea.
According to court documents, a warrant for his arrest was issued July 11, 2016 after police went to a home on Taylor Street on a report of a breaking and entering in progress.
After getting a search warrant for the house, police say they found heroin, cocaine and marijuana inside. Scott was one of four persons in the house at the time of the discovery by police.
