COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – It’s not very often a radio station News Director gets to write a story about themselves but this is a special occasion.
As many of you know, I turned 68 years old in December and while my health is still good (knock wood), the time has come to turn the reins of the AM 1590 and FM 95.5 WTVB news room over to someone else.
I am happy to announce that a familiar voice in our area, Brett Briscoe, will be taking over as our News Director next week.
I have been planning to go into semi-retirement for several months and now I will get that opportunity.
While I will miss our time together every morning, I will not miss that blasted 3:30 a.m. alarm clock.
My last full time day with the station will be on Tuesday, March 18, 2025.
I hope you will support Brett as much as you did me. Thank you for your compliments over the years and more importantly your criticisms because in many cases they were valid.
I’ll still be covering Branch County news and sports for WTVB but on a more reduced and relaxed schedule. I will also continue pursuing free lance opportunities such as being the play-by-play voice of Hillsdale College athletics during their live streams at www.hillsdalecharges.com.
GO CHARGERS!!!!
