Richard (Milo) L. Price, 74, went to his heavenly home March 5, 2025 at Ascension Borgess Hospital in Kalamazoo, MI.
A celebration of Dick’s life will be held Saturday, June 28, 2025 at the Quincy American Legion from 2:00-6:00 p.m.
He was born to Floyd and Norma (Gribler) Price August 18, 1950 in Lima, Ohio.
His family moved to Allen Michigan from Ohio when he was in third grade and attended the Allen School until the kids were all moved to the Quincy Schools.
He graduated from Quincy High School in 1968. He participated in football and wrestling. He was part of the undefeated 1967 football team that was inducted into the Quincy Hall of Fame.
He enjoyed golfing, and was President of the Friday night league at the Quincy Golf Course for many years. He was a member of the Son’s of the American Legion in Quincy, MI where he participated and volunteered for many projects.
He enjoyed camping and sports. He was a big fan of Michigan State, Ferris State, Oklahoma State and of course, the Lions.
He worked on the family farm, and did Co-op through the school where he became a brake specialist at Wood’s Safety Service in the mornings and attended school in the afternoons. He continued at Wood’s for many years until a position became available at Firestone in Coldwater which he enjoyed and stayed at many years. He also worked part-time in the evenings for Houser’s gas station for a few years pumping gas and changing the oil for customers.
He started a position at Arnold’s Auto Parts where he mixed paint for vehicles and worked the counter. He loved his customers. He figured he had found his forever job and stayed for 28 years but then an offer came from Auto Value. He and Dave Cornish opened up the new Auto Value Store in Coldwater where he stayed until retirement.
Again, he enjoyed getting to know his customers and had a gift to gab. Many times he would walk outside to help a customer put on new windshield wipers or look under the hood to figure out what part was needed. If he knew someone that hit hard times, he would slip them a twenty or a fifty dollar bill out of his own pocket. He made sure the Dum Dum sucker jar was always full for the kids that came with their parents.
Dick enjoyed working on vehicles in his shop on evenings and weekends for family and friends whether it was changing the oil or fixing the brakes or other problems. Many times he was asked “how much do I owe you?” and his answer was “nothin, you’re good to go. You can help me out sometime when I need it.” Anyone that needed help with their vehicle he would be there to help them. He was an awesome provider to his family as well to his friends.
His family who will miss him dearly are his wife Sandi (Fast) Price, sons Brian (Stephanie) Price of Stillwater, Ok; Jason (Penny) Price of Allen, MI; grandchildren John Price, Sebastian Price, Sophia Price, Olive Price, Chelsea (Evan) Lobdell, Brianne (TJ) Graham, Brittany (Vince) Lopez, Daniel Lopez; great-grandchildren Blare, Flinn, Joyce, baby Warren, Kaden, Joren, Nola, Ty, Malaya, Amora, and Vinnie. Siblings: Vickie (Brad) Hickok, Bob (Kathy) Price, William (Suzanne) Price, Ronald Price and many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Quincy American Legion, Parkinson’s Foundation, the U of M Transplant Center, Coldwater Church of the Nazarene, or a charity of your choice.
Arrangements are entrusted to the Eagle Funeral Home-George White Chapel in Quincy.
