LANSING, MI (WTVB) -Branch County has a state champion bowler. Bronson sophomore Brandon Hyska won the MHSAA Division 4 Boys Singles championship at Royal Scot in Lansing Saturday, defeating Grass Lake’s Chase Elkins in the championship match 453-377.
Hyska advanced with wins over Ryon Jackson of Detroit DEPSA 487-253 in the Round of 16, Kyle Tuttle of St. Charles 482-456 in the Quarterfinals, and Korey Reichard of Vandercook Lake 318-268 in the Semifinals.
Fellow Viking bowler Ryan Wisman lost to Beaverton’s Chase Castro 361-355 in the Round of 16.
Meanwhile, Coldwater’s Alec Keplinger lost to Wyatt Mains of Three Rivers 358-330 in the round of 16 at the MHSAA D2 Boys Bowling Individual Finals.
