COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The road to the Breslin Center starts Monday night for boys basketball teams in Michigan as the MHSAA state tournament gets underway.
Coldwater will be hosting a Class A district this week. The host Cardinals take on Sturgis in the quarterfinals. Coldwater is 14-6 while the Trojans are 15-5. Sturgis defeated Coldwater 52-50 January 31 on the Trojans home court, ending an eight game winning streak for the Cards. Monday’s 7:00 p.m. game will be broadcast on AM1590 and FM 95.5 WTVB, with the pregame show at 6:30 p.m.
Battle Creek Lakeview plays Kalamazoo Loy Norrix in the opening game of the Coldwater districts.
The Class C districts open at Jonesville Monday night with Big 8 Conference co-Champion Quincy facing the host Comets in the first game. Quincy will bring a 16-4 record into the contest. The 8-12 Union City Chargers will face Reading in the second game.
