TEKONSHA, MI (WTVB) – A principal in the Tekonsha Community School district is in some legal hot water in connection with a previous employment.
The Traverse City Record-Eagle reports 44-year-old Jennifer Lindsay McGuff is facing felony charges for allegedly filing false travel expenses, failing to return school materials, and overcharging her employer for a tuition payment.
A pre-trial conference was scheduled for Friday.
The newspaper reports that the charges were in connection with McGuff’s work in the Traverse Bay Area Intermediate School District. She currently is the Elementary Principaland Special Education Consultant for Tekonsha.
Tekonsha Superintendent Jeffrey Kawaski told the Battle Creek Enquirer that the district has been aware of the allegations since November and they feel “it’s best to allow the legal system to run its course and to not further discuss an investigation that is in progress.”
