MOUNT PLEASANT, MI (WTVB) – Top seeded Hudson had to win four out of the last five matches to defeat upset minded Bronson 38-25 in the MHSAA Division Four Team Wrestling semi-finals at Central Michigan University’s McGuirk Arena Saturday morning.
Hudson jumped out to a 20-0 lead before Bronson won the next five matches. Ruger Ranney got a decision at 145 which was followed by pins from Isaac Robertson at 152 and Gavin Alger at 160. Cole Houtz at 171 and David Erwin at 189 scored decisions to put the Vikings ahead 21-20.
After the Tigers got decisions at 215 and 285, Ben Modert got a major decision at 103 to cut the Hudson lead to 26-25. But Hudson closed the match with pins in the final two matches.
Bronson finished 31-9 in dual meets this season.
