COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – In biys high school basketball, the Coldwater Cardinals will close out the Interstate 8 portion of their schedule tonight as they host the Hastings Saxons on Hall of Fame Night at Coldwater High School. Coming off a 59-24 romp at Jackson Lumen Christi, the Cardinals are 13-5 overall and 9-4 in the Interstate 8.
Tonight’s game will be the next-to-last regular season contest for the Cardinals. The regular season finale will be next Thursday at Portage Central.
The Coldwater J.V. boys got back on track with a 37-29 win at Hastings on Thursday. Ryan Murphy led all scorers with 12 points.
Also in boys basketball tonight, Big 8 Conference co-leader Quincy plays at Jonesville. The Orioles are tied for first place in the Big 8 with Concord. Both are 10-1 following the Orioles win last Friday over the Yellow Jackets.
Meanwhile, Bronson plays at Cassopolis and Union City will be at Reading.

Girls Basketball—
The Coldwater Cardinals close out the regular season tonight at home against Hastings in the opening game of a varsity girls/boys doubleheader. Coldwater is 14-5 overall and 8-5 in the Interstate 8. Coverage of the twin bill and the Hall of Fame induction ceremony will start at 5:30 p.m on AM 1590 and FM 95.5 WTVB as well as on line at www.wtvbam.com.
Coldwater’s J.V. Lady Cards suffered a heart breaking loss in their last game of the season as they were beaten by Hastings 27-26. Autumn Sunderland led Coldwater with 11 points while Bailey Burkhardt grabbed 10 rebounds.
The freshman girls basketball team closed their season at 9-10 with a 37-24 win over Hastings. Taylor Wilber had 17 points for the Cardinals while Abby Little grabbed eight rebounds.
The Quincy girls basketball game at Jonesville that was originally scheduled for Thursday night will instead be played tonight as part of a varsity girls/boys doubleheader.

Coldwater’s 8th grade A team lost to Parma Western 35-30. Mia Rzepka led Coldwater with 12 points.
The Coldwater 8th Grade White team lost to Parma Western 45-28 as they finished their season at 4-7. Joselyn Salto led Coldwater with 16 points.
The Coldwater 7th grade A team lost to Parma Western 41-32 as they finished 8-3. Jayla Foster had 11 points while Mallory Wilber grabbed 10 rebounds.
The Coldwater 7th grade B basketball team finished 10-1 as they defeated Parma Western 21-18. Coldwater was led in scoring by Cemara Paul with five points.
