COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – Annual reports from the Department of Public Works and the Branch County Drain Commission were presented to the Branch County Board of Commissioners Tuesday.
The D.P.W. report includes the two sewer systems on the southern part of Coldwater Lake, Lakeside Estates and Arborview.
The report indicated that revenues increased from over $440,000 in 2015 to over $466,000 in 2016.
There are 603 users on System One and another 966 users on System Two. Both the Coldwater Lake Association Building and the building at 632 Lake Drive have flow meters which are read once a month. The Lake George Sanitary Sewer System is billed monthly based on magnetic flow meter readings. The system usage fluctuates since some are not year round residents.
The Drain Commission report included reports from the Hodunk-Messenger and Coldwater-Marble Lake boards. Vrablic serves as the Commission liaison to the Coldwater-Marble Lake board and he said they have undergone an invasive weed treatment program.
The Drain Commission office issued 82 Earth Change/Soil Erosion permits in 2016. That’s 13 more than in 2015. Revenue for permits last year totaled over $4,700.
