COLDWATER, MI (WTVB)- A man serving life behind bars for a Monroe County murder almost 20 years ago was sentenced Monday in Branch County Circuit Court for attacking two guards at the Lakeland Correctional Facility last summer.
49-year-old Frank Little was given sentences of 17 to 26 months after he entered no contest pleas on two counts of assault of a prison employee. The time will served consecutive to his first degree murder sentence.
The confrontation took place last July after Little had been caught drinking alcohol.
Michigan Department of Corrections online records show Little was sent to the Bellamy Creek Correctional Facility in Ionia for administrative segregation following the incident at the Lakeland Prison.
In exchange for his no contest pleas, two other counts of assault of a prison employee as well as habitual offender enhancement were dismissed by prosecutors.
