QUINCY, MI (WTVB) – Despite mild weather and the lack of ice and snow, the annual Quincy Chain of Lakes Tip-Up Festival will go on Saturday at Tip-Up Island.
Fishing contests, kid’s games, and wood cutting contets will be held throughout the day Saturday. The 35th Annual Polar Bear Splash into Marble Lake will be modified a bit this year, with organizers installing a dock to allow participants to still jump into the chilly water.
The snowmobile and quad races have been cancelled. A Jeep Jamboree will be held for the first time this year.
The Fisherman’s Ball will still be held in the pavilion from 8:00 p.m. until midnight.
The Tip-Up Mayor for 2017 is Jerry Topp, the Tip-Up Sheriff is Danielle Badders, and Hannah Economou will reign over the festival as Tip-Up Queen.
