COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – Coldwater hosted Marshall and Jackson Northwest for an Interstate 8 triangular meet Tuesday at Cardinal Field, and the Cardinals came away with four victories. Coldwater’s boys team defeated Northwest 131.5-39.5 and Marshall 105-70. The Lady Cards beat the Mounties 139-34 and the Redhawks 130-41.
Coldwater’s boys took ten out of the seventeen events. Evan Lewis won the 100m, Naseem Taha took the 200m, Bennett McDonald won the 110m hurdles, and Kendall Austin won the 300m hurdles. Garrett McVicker edged Jackson Reilly for first place in the shot put, while Reilly won the discus and Ben Travelbee took the pole vault. The Cardinal relay teams won the 4x100m, 4x200m, and 4x400m events.
The Coldwater girls won all but one event. Miyah Moore was a double winner in the 100m and 200m, while Ella Grabowski won the 400m and the long jump. Other Cardinal winners include Grace Huff in the 800m, Gwen Eby in the 1600m, Madilynn Persails in the 100m hurdles, Morgan Baker in the 300m hurdles, Marie Powers in the shot put, Elli Foley in the discus, Elli Anderson in the high jump, and Ava Longstreet in the pole vault. In addition, the Cardinals swept to victory in all four relay races.

Coldwater will be among the eight teams competing at the Union City Invitational on Friday.
