BATTLE CREEK, MI (WTVB) – Coldwater had 31 total hits in a doubleheader sweep at Pennfield, winning the opener 19-0 in three innings and the nightcap 19-2 in four innings.
Audi Bucklin threw a one-hitter with no walks and eight strikeouts in the first game, while Rylie VanAken went 4-for-4 with three singles, a triple, and three runs batted in. Mya Porter also tripled, while Julia Travelbee and Mackenzie Searing doubled.
Searing was the winning pitcher in the second game, allowing one run on one hit in three innings of work. Vandria Bucklin drove in five runs with two doubles and a single, and Rylie VanAken added three doubles.
The Cardinals improved to 6-2 overall and 2-2 in the Interstate 8. They will host Hastings on Thursday.

UNION CITY, MI – Bronson remained perfect in the Big 8 at 6-0 and improved to 7-3 overall with a doubleheader sweep at Union City, 10-0 in 6 innings and 18-3 in 4 innings.
Ashlyn Harris threw a one-hit shutout with 17 strikeouts to pace the Vikings to victory in the opener, while Lydia Wells had a triple and two singles and drove in two runs. Lauren Tundevold got the only Charger hit.
Bronson took advantage of 10 Union City errors while collecting 11 hits in the nightcap. Roni Bir had a five-RBI game with a single and a double. Braelynn Giminez and Hermosa Gonzalez singled and doubled and drove in three runs apiece. Kailynne Scare and Lydia Wells also doubled. Madison Shaw allowed seven hits and struck out seven. Madison Krummrey doubled for Union City, while Madyson Washburn had two hits.
The Chargers fell to 8-6 overall, 4-2 in the Big 8, and play at Centreville on Thursday. The Vikings are also on the road Thursday, as they visit Hanover-Horton.
Stockbridge 6, Quincy 5 (8 innings)

STOCKBRIDGE, MI – Quincy and Stockbridge played a pair of one-run games, with the host Panthers taking the opener 6-5 in eight innings and the Orioles victorious in the nightcap 2-1.
The teams were tied 2-2 after regulation in the first game. Quincy was able to push three runs across in the top of the eighth, but Stockbridge scored four in the bottom of the inning to get the win. Danika Skirka and Cali Richards each had two hits.
In the second game, winning pitcher Danika Skirka gave up an unearned run on three hits and 14 strikeouts. Miley Poindexter and Cali Richards had the only two Oriole hits.
Quincy is now 7-7 overall and 4-2 in the Big 8. They will host Homer on Thursday.
