KALAMAZOO, MI (WTVB) – In boys high school swimming and diving Tuesday, Coldwater and Kalamazoo Loy Norrix scored a rare 93-93 tie
Loy Norrix had a 87-85 lead going into the last event which was won by the Cardinals. Coldwater made up the two point deficit and the meet ended in a tie.
Austin Butler qualified for diving regionals with his fifth win in the one meter dive. Butler is the first Coldwater swimmer to advance to the diving regionals.
Three more team records were set as Carter Moore broke his own record in the 100 butterfly. The relay team of Butler, Lucas Santure, Carter Moore and Paul Bonham broke the 200 medley relay. Meanwhile, the relay of Moore, Tanner Bowers, Jacob Taylor and Butler broke their own record in the 400 freestyle relay as Coldwater won eight of the 12 events.
The Coldwater boys swim again Thursday when they face the Sturgis Trojans on Senior Night at the Browne Aquatic Center.
