NEWARK, OH (WTVB) – A Coldwater native died Monday from injuries he suffered late Sunday night when he was struck by a vehicle in Newark, Ohio.
The Newark Advocate reports that police are still looking for a pickup truck or a large SUV that struck 24-year-old William Lee Goodman III on State Road 16 Eastbound at around 11:30 p.m. Sunday.
A passerby called 911 after seeing Goodman laying in the road.
Goodman was rushed to Licking Memorial Hospital before being flown to Ohio State University’s Wexner Medical Center in Columbus where he later died.
Police say Goodman had been living in Newark for about a year. Newark is located about 30 miles east of Columbus, Ohio.
His family has started a Go Fund Me page to help pay for funeral expenses.
