Gilberto Ramon Vasquez, 84, of Coldwater, passed away Wednesday, April 23, 2025 at Insight Hospital and Medical Center Coldwater.
A funeral service will be held Monday, April 28, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. at Dutcher Funeral Home in Coldwater. Interment will follow the service at Battle Creek Memorial Park.
Visitation will be held that morning from 10:00 a.m. until time of service at the funeral home.
He was born July 24, 1940 to Pablo and Aurora (Perez) Vasquez in Laredo, TX. Gilberto married his first wife and mother of his children Virgina Vasquez who preceded him in death; he then married his second wife Sylvia Vasquez who also preceded him in death.
Gilberto was a hard-working man that always made sure his family was provided for. He worked with Bostik Corporation in Marshall for 31 dedicated years before finally retiring.
Gilberto was a collector of coins and stamps and found his joy in karaoke and animals. He deeply valued his ’57 Chevy that he always looked forward to working on and showcasing at classic car shows; but above all else, Gilberto loved and cherished his family.
Gilberto leaves behind his son Robert (Gail) Vasquez of Coldwater; his stepchildren Leonard Lux, Lewis Lux both of Burr Oak, Lesley Lux of Battle Creek; his siblings Connie Sawyer of Marshall, Jose Vasquez, Arturo Vasquez both of Battle Creek, Manuel Vasquez of Marshall, Tommy Vasquez of Battle Creek; his 6 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, and his many loving nieces and nephews.
In addition to his wives Virginia and Sylvia, he was preceded in death by his parents, his sons Anthony, Steven, Gordon, Gilbert Vasquez, and his brothers Paul and Peter Vasquez.
Memorial donations may be made to the Humane Society of Branch County or Calhoun County Humane Society.
