COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The Coldwater School District Board of Education will hold a special meeting Monday night to consider and possibly approve a bond issue that could be on the ballot in November 2017.
The district has hosted a series of meetings since last spring to find out what the public feels are the greatest needs in the district and why a pair of bond issues were rejected by an almost 3-1 margin in May 2015.
District officials have been trying to deal with the problem of aging buildings and the use of general fund money to deal with infrastructure issues.
Superintendent Terry Boguth said in November there have also been a number of creative ideas on dealing with the distribution of students throughout the buildings.
She recently said the top priority from citizens is the need for a new elementary building and that there are “behind the walls” mechanical needs in both the middle school and the high school.
Monday’s meeting will begin at 6:00 p.m.in the board room of the district’s Administrative Services Building off Sauk River Drive.
