BATTLE CREEK, MI (WTVB)-Applications for Kellogg Community College’s Full-Time Nursing Program and Part-Time Nights and Weekends Nursing Program starting this fall are due May 22.
KCC offers several levels of Nursing programming to meet the needs of students who require alternative scheduling options. KCC’s Full-Time Nursing Program generally takes students approximately two years to complete, including two fall semesters two spring semesters.
The Part-Time Nights and Weekends Nursing Program – introduced in 2023 – offers a schedule requiring just one weeknight of classes each week with clinical experiences offered on Saturdays. It generally takes students seven semesters or approximately two and a half years to complete, including three fall semesters, two spring semesters and two summer semesters.
KCC is the only regional college to offer a part-time associate degree Nursing Program option in addition to a full-time option to meet the needs of students with busy schedules. Both programs ultimately result in an Associate in Applied Science in Nursing degree allowing graduates to complete the registered nurse licensure exam (NCLEX-RN) to become a Registered Nurse (RN).
Additional program options with application deadlines coming up this spring and summer include deadlines for the Advanced Placement Part-Time Nursing Program (June 2) and traditional Part-Time Nursing Program (Aug. 15).
The traditional Part-Time Nursing Program differs from the Nights and Weekends option in that it requires weekday classes and starts in the spring; the Advanced Placement option is designed specifically for students who have a current Michigan LPN and who are seeking to complete Level II coursework to earn an Associate of Applied Science degree in Nursing to become eligible for the NR-NCLEX.
