COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The Coldwater Community School Board of Education formally approved the extension of Superintendent Paul Flynn’s contract on Monday night.
His contract now runs through June of 2028. Flynn has served as the Coldwater Superintendent since July of 2023 when he took over for Terry Whelan when she retired.
A number of administrator contracts were also extended for a year on Monday night.
In other business, the school board approved several quotes that will affect athletics in the district.
They approved over $28,000 in quotes from Floor Care Concepts of Wyoming, Michigan for the restoration and
recoating of the high school main gymnasium floor as well as for the gym floors at Legg Middle School and Lakeland Elementary School.
They also approved a quote of just under $5,400 from the Windscreen Factory of Powder Springs, Georgia to replace worn out and cracked backstop pads at the Rotary Softball Complex as well as a quote of over $6,400 from Riddell for six new football helmets, six speed flex helmets and smart helmet technology which records and analyzes impacts through the use of sensors. In case of a hard hit, those sensors would then send a signal to the sidelines to inform trainers and coaches of a possible concussion.
